  • The Force awakens the toy aisle

    Star Wars merchandise is shaking up the busy fall retail season, according to a new report.

    According to new research from 360pi, between Sept. 4 and 10, Star Wars-themed toys comprised nearly two in 10 of the daily top 100 best selling toys on Amazon, dethroning bestsellers Cards Against Humanity, Crayola and Exploding Kittens, and replacing traditional Lego items with Star Wars-themed versions.

  • Paster partners on new mixed-use project

    Minnetonka, Minn. — Real estate developer Paster Properties and multi-family property developer and manager Bader Development, have begun construction at 1700 Plymouth Road, a six-story, 155,000-sq.-ft., mixed-use redevelopment project in Minnetonka, Minnesota. Paster Properties president Howard Paster and Bader Development VP of acquisitions and development Robb Bader made the announcement. 

  • Cult Japanese retailer lands in New York

    Another global fashion retailer has made its U.S. debut.

    Tokyo-based Tomorrowland , which has a cult following in its home country,  has opened a store in the SoHo neighborhood of Manhattan. The retailer, which operates some 160 stores in Japan, is known for its cool fashions, upmarket prices and sleek, minimalist ambience.

    The 3,200-sq.-ft. store features the brand’s exclusive men’s and women’s collections, along with a curated selection from several contemporary labels.  

  • Former Famous Footwear exec named CMO at Crocs Inc.

    Crocs Inc. has promoted one of its marketing directors to be the company's next CMO.

    The company announced that Terence Reilly was promoted to senior vice president and chief marketing officer. In this new role, Reilly will continue to lead the Global Marketing team in Niwot, Colo., providing strategic direction and support to the company's regional and country marketing teams across the globe. Reilly will continue to oversee all aspects of Crocs' marketing, including the company's brand, advertising, consumer and social media campaigns.

    CBL is giving shoppers with kids a fun reason to visit its centers.

    CBL & Associates Properties and Playtime have entered into a multi-year partnership with Fisher-Price, Inc., a leading infant and preschool toy manufacturers, and a subsidiary of Mattel, Inc., to design soft play areas at select CBL centers nationwide.

    St. Charles, Mo. -- Cullinan Properties continues its growth in the St. Charles, Missouri, region with the announcement of three new restaurants joining the Streets of St. Charles.

    Wasabi Sushi Bar and Picasso's Coffee House are targeted to open September 2015 and P.F. Chang’s China Bistro is expected to open in spring 2016. The restaurants will join a growing list of eateries at Streets of St. Charles: Prasino, Bar Louie, Tucano’s, Dewey’s Pizza, and Five Guys Burgers and Fries.
