  • Davaco rolls out menu updates for restaurants

    Dallas -- Davaco said Tuesday it is preparing to roll out high-volume retrofits of interior and exterior restaurant menu boards in response to the FDA’s new nutrition/menu labeling program.

    The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 requires restaurants and similar retail food establishments with 20 or more locations to list calorie content information for standard menu items on restaurant menus and menu boards.

  • NRF welcomes Obama’s pro-retail business proposals in State of Union address

    Washington, D.C. -- The National Retail Federation welcomed President Obama’s recognition of the importance of the retail industry to job creation in Tuesday night’s State of the Union address, and pledged to work with the White House on initiatives to promote continuation of the nation’s economic recovery.

  • Bieber, Osbournes to star in Best Buy Super Bowl spot

    MINNEAPOLIS -- Best Buy has confirmed appearances by Grammy Nominated, Pop/R&B sensation, Justin Bieber, and rock’s most iconic couple, Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne, in the retailer’s first ever commercial to air during the Super Bowl. Slated to air in the third quarter of the Feb. 6 game, this Best Buy spot will showcase creativity and humor to millions of football and advertising fans throughout the country, the company reported.

    CINCINNATI and NEW YORK -- Procter and Gamble and Macy's announced that they have partnered to promote P&G's Downy April Fresh fabric softener and Macy's sheets as the perfect combination for the ultimate bedroom experience. 

  • Walmart is ready for some football

    BENTONVILLE, Ark. -- Walmart announced that beginning Jan. 30 through Feb. 5, or while supplies last, customers can save up to $560 on a Samsung LED HDTV and Blu-ray disc player bundle. Customers can also enjoy up to $100 savings on additional select HDTVs and up to $40 savings on select home theater systems.

    New York City -- BJ’s Wholesale Club has selected Premier Retail Networks to provide high-quality, 1080p video programming for BJ’s in-club television department. 

  • Safeway expands health-and-wellness brand portfolio with Open Nature

    PLEASANTON, Calif. — Building on the success of its store brands O Organics and Eating Right, Safeway is boosting its portfolio with a new line of healthy, nutritious food.

    Open Nature includes more than 100 products made with 100% natural ingredients from natural sources. The first Open Nature items now are available in Safeway’s meat departments, with additional products to be added to the store brand throughout the year.

    Current items up for grabs are priced between $3.99 and $5.99, the retailer said.

  • Product exchange program back at Toys“R”Us

    If ever there were a case of turning lemons into lemonade, the Toys“R”Us exchange program is it. Billed as the “Great Trade-In” event, the program is positioned as a child safety initiative that enables customers to bring in used products in exchange for a 25% discount on a new item.
