  • Quiksilver Europe delivers quicker, richer online experience with Limelight Networks

    Tempe, Ariz. -- Limelight Networks announced that Quiksilver Europe deployed Limelight’s website acceleration services to maximize website performance and enhance the online experience for its customers.

  • Barbie flagship closes

    Shanghai, China -- Mattel announced Monday that it has closed its much-acclaimed Barbie flagship store, which opened March 2009 in Shanghai.

    The El Segundo, Calif.-based toy manufacturer, which officially closed the store’s doors on Monday, cited a change in strategy as reason for the closure. Mattel said in a statement that it plans to promote the Barbie brand via road tour -- on a pink tour bus.

  • Something to sneeze at

    An over-the-counter version of the antihistamine Allegra hit the marketplace this past Friday amid a promotional frenzy that was consistent with the approach taken when similar products such as Claritin and Zyrtec became available without a prescription. As was the case with other products before it, retailers are eager to get their share of sales so there tends to be considerable activity around the launch.

  • Brooks Bros. retains branding firm

    New York City -- Strategic branding firm Graj + Gustavsen said Monday that it has been retained by Brooks Bros. to consult on the apparel retailer’s branding initiatives.

    According to Lou Amendola, chief merchandising officer for Brooks Bros., “We are excited to be working with the team at Graj + Gustavsen. Their deep expertise in consumer brand positioning and insight into market trends made them the ideal partner as we continue to explore brand building opportunities for Brooks Bros.”

  • Cooking.com launches new store for Good Bite

    Marina Del Ray, Calif. -- Cooking.com and recipe video website Good Bite announced that Cooking.com will be building and managing a new online kitchenware store for Good Bite.

  • Lowe's introduces Dacor appliances

    Mooresville, N.C.-based Lowe's is adding Dacor to its appliance mix in select Lowe's stores and offering Dacor for special order from the rest.

    Costa Mesa, Calif.-based Dacor makes luxury kitchen appliances. Two of the standout products offered through Lowe's are the Renaissance 36-in. Gas Cooktop and the Renaissance 30-in. Single Wall Oven.
