Macy's helps raise $4.1 million for the National Park Foundation

10/7/2008

NEW YORK Macy's announced that it has helped raise more than $4.1 million dollars through its Turn Over A New Leaf Earth Week campaign to benefit the National Park Foundation, the official charity of America’s National Parks, and other important local nonprofit groups that protect and conserve the environment.

Macy’s One Good Turn charity shopping day, part of the “Turn Over A New Leaf” eco-awareness campaign, took place at all Macy’s stores on April 25 to raise awareness and funds for the environment through a special $5 Macy’s shopping pass. Of the total dollars raised this year, more than $2.5 million will be donated to the National Park Foundation to expand conservation education programs for children and families including “First Bloom,” a nation-wide program giving urban kids a chance to get involved with their parks and nature.
