    EL SEGUNDO, Calif. -- Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market has announced the availability of 27 new exclusive California wines. The new wines, which the company said are sourced from some of the finest vineyards in California's premium wine growing regions, are broken into seven new lines and retail from $3.99 to $19.99.

  • Hudson’s Bay in franchise deal with Topshop

    Toronto — The Hudson's Bay Co. announced it has earned exclusive Canadian franchise rights for the United Kingdom’s Topshop and its male counterpart, Topman. The agreement includes the rights for both freestanding locations and in-store shops, expected to launch in The Bay in fall 2011.

  • Hhgregg to open new location in Akron

    Indianapolis -- Hhgregg Tuesday announced the grand opening of a new location at the Chapel Hill Mall, Akron, Ohio, on March 10.

    The new store will replace Hhgregg’s older location in Akron, Ohio.

    “The store’s new location and design will provide shoppers in the Akron area with a modern, convenient shopping experience,” said Jeff Pearson, VP marketing, Hhgregg. “We hope that shoppers will come into the store to see the new layout and take advantage of grand opening specials.”

    DALLAS -- High-end apparel retailer Neiman Marcus has announced the launch of NMdaily, a fashion blog, which the company said will provide daily updates from "the front lines of the design world." 

    "By producing a blog with a truly editorial point of view, we are creating a new and exciting online customer experience," said Wanda Gierhart, CMO Neiman Marcus Group. "NMdaily is central to our social media activities."

  • Stage Store Q4 earnings up on improved sales

    Houston -- Stage Stores' fiscal fourth-quarter profit rose 15% on increased sales. The department store operator said its board approved a new buyback of up to $200 million of its outstanding shares.

    The department store operator reported net income of $32 million for the period ended Jan. 29, up from $27.9 million a year earlier.

    Revenue rose 5% to $453.7 million, from $431.7 million. Analysts expected $453.5 million in revenue.

  • Retail Orphan Initiative announces computer recycling program for retailers

    Nashville, Tenn. -- The Retail Orphan Initiative (RetailROI) announced that it has created a computer recycling program in partnership with the GEAR Foundation. The program, which recycles retailers’ computers that are less than four years old and have expired warranties, will immediately create jobs for physically and mentally challenged young adults as the computers are erased, refurbished, and resold.
