  • Restoration Hardware swings to loss in Q4, but edges forecasts

    Corte Madera, Calif. -- Restoration Hardware Holdings Inc. reported Friday a loss of $28.4 million for the quarter ended Feb. 2, compared with a profit of $24 million in the year-ago period. Results, impacted by costs associated with the company’s November 2012 IPO, edged analysts’ expectations.

    Revenue surged 30% to $398.1 million from $305.2 million last year, beating Wall Street’s forecast of $390.5 million. Same-store sales advanced a hefty 26%.

  • J. C. Penney wins latest court round; rehires company vet Ken Mangone

    New York -- A New York judge on Thursday rejected a request by Macy's to block J.C. Penney from selling Martha Stewart goods under the "JCP Everyday" label for now, while it appeals a ruling allowing the sale. An order temporarily barring Martha Stewart from selling goods branded with her name at J.C. Penney's is still in place.

  • American Girl, Monster High drive Mattel Q1 results

    EL SEGUNDO, Calif. — Key Mattel brands drove Mattel sales for the first quarter of 2013. 

    Mattel's net sales for the quarter were $996 million, up 7% compared to $928 million last year, and net income increased dramatically to $38.5 million, or $0.11 per share, compared to last year's first quarter net income of $7.8 million, or $0.02 per share.

  • RadioShack beefs up executive team; new prototypes in works

    Fort Worth, Texas -- RadioShack Corp. formally announced that it has named two new leaders to its senior management team. Michael DeFazio has been named SVP – store concepts, and Jennifer Warren has been named SVP and chief marketing officer.

  • Office Depot debuts citizenship site for Earth Month

    Boca Raton, Fla. -- Office Depot announced Thursday that it has debuted a new corporate citizenship website – Officedepotcitizenship.com – in recognition of Earth Month.

    The site provides information about the company’s various initiatives, including ethics, diversity and the environment, presented in an interactive format.

  • CVS to help support One Fund Boston

    WOONSOCKET, R.I. — CVS Caremark will join the Boston business community to support The One Fund Boston, established by Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick and Boston Mayor Thomas Menino to raise money for victims and families who have been affected by the Boston Marathon tragedy.

    The CVS Caremark Charitable Trust, the private foundation of CVS Caremark, will donate $100,000 to The One Fund Boston, which is also accepting online donations from the public at Onefundboston.org.

  • Uniqlo to sponsor for MoMA’s free Friday night admission program

    New York -- Uniqlo will be the exclusive, multi-year, corporate sponsor of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) Museum’s Friday night free admission program, which provides free access to the public to the Museum and all exhibitions from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., every Friday, throughout the year.
     
    “Uniqlo Free Friday Nights” will launch on May 3. That evening, the first 1,000 visitors will receive a special Uniqlo tote bag. Also in May, the Museum will begin extending its public schedule to seven days per week.

  • RadioShack expands senior management team

    FORT WORTH — RadioShack has named Jennifer Warren as its new SVP and CMO, and Michael DeFazio as its new SVP of store concepts.
