    Hordes of spend-happy young Mexican shoppers are successfully attracting specialty apparel retailers from the U.S. and Europe – and, as mentioned in a recent report by Wall Street Journal, Walmart is feeling the pain.

  • Former Dow Chemical VP named to doll company board

    HOUSTON — One World Holdings has appointed Wilma Delaney, former VP of federal, state and provincial governmental and regulatory affairs for Dow Chemical, to its board of directors.

  • Online barbecue store reopens

     St. Augustine, Fla. – Barbecue product retailer Heaton Enterprises has reopened its online barbecue store Barbqrub.com. Although never officially closed, the site has added new products including and rubs and marinades as well as grills and grilling tools and will also soon expand its blog to offer best practices, product reviews and recipes.

  • Athleta translates race sponsorship into foot traffic

    Fitness and lifestyle brand Athleta is sponsoring this year's Esprit de She 5K and 10K races, designed exclusively for women, to be held Thursday, June 27, at the Koka Booth Amphitheatre in Cary, N.C., just 15 minutes from downtown Raleigh.

    Athleta's mission to "celebrate and inspire women athletes of all levels" while outfitting them with apparel geared toward athletic pursuits that include yoga, Pilates, running, swimming and biking, is in line with the Esprit de She event.

  • B&G Foods acquires Pirate Booty and associated brands

    PARSIPPANY, N.J. — B&G Foods has acquired Robert’s American Gourmet Food, doing business as Pirate Brands — an all-natural snack foods category — from VMG Partners, Driven Capital Management, founder Robert Ehrlich and other entities and individuals.

    B&G will pay approximately $195 million in cash.

  • Tom Cruise makes surprise appearance at Wal-Mart annual meeting

    Bentonville, Ark. -- Wal-Mart Stores  held its annual shareholders meeting on Friday morning and the most noteworthy development at the event — aside from a $15 billion share repurchase authorization — was a surprise appearance and glowing comments by Hollywood heavyweight Tom Cruise.

    Nail polish remover products include the Advanced Revival One-Step Remover Pads, Advanced Revival Liquid Nail Polish Remover, the Cutex Corrector Pen and Cutex Regular Instant Nail Polish Remover Jar.
