    New York -- Teen retailer Delia’s announced that its CFO, David Dick, has resigned. He will remain with the company through Aug. 1.

  • Jo-Ann names Express, Sears veterans to exec posts

    New York -- Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores named Jim Wright as senior VP of marketing and advertising, and Megan Featherston as senior VP of merchandising.

    Wright has served in multiple marketing leadership roles at national retail brands. He was most recently senior VP of marketing at Express where he was responsible for their brick-and-mortar and e-commerce advertising and marketing strategies.

  • Lowe’s releases its first-ever set of public sustainability goals

    Mooresville, N.C. – Lowe’s has released its 2013 Corporate Sustainability Report, which highlight its efforts to promote the well-being of its employees, its communities and the environment. The report includes Lowe's first set of public sustainability goals, which establish new targets for energy use, carbon emissions and waste for the year 2020.

    By 2020, Lowe’s aims to achieve the following milestones for energy use, carbon emissions and waste, measured against a 2010 baseline:

  • Amazon woos serious coin collectors

    Customers can now shop on Amazon for collectible U.S. coins from industry leading dealers including Stack’s Bowers Galleries, Kagin’s, David Lawrence Rare Coins and Liberty Coin — all from the newly launched Collectible Coins store.

  • White Castle launches social promotion

    Columbus, Ohio - White Castle is launching a social media promotion called the #CraveMobile Contest. The contest gives Cravers, the company's most loyal fans, the chance to win a visit from the Crave Mobile, White Castle's mobile food truck, for a party with 50 friends.

  • General Mills expands protein portfolio

    Cheerios, a brand from General Mills, announced the launch of Cheerios Protein. The company is billing the product as a "smart solution" that provides a boost of energy for hectic mornings.

  • Brown Shoe swings to profit in Q1

    St. Louis -- Brown Shoe Company’s first quarter results exceeded expectations as the retailer swung to a profit. The company said it is raising its annual forecast.

    Brown Shoe reported net earnings for the quarter of $15.4 million, compared to a net loss of $10.8 million in the year-ago period.

    Net sales for the quarter increased 0.4% to $591.2 million, from $588.7 million for the prior-year quarter.
