Amazon Pet Day returns in May
For the fourth straight year, Amazon will mark National Pet Month in May with a 48-hour sales extravaganza.
Initially introduced as a 24-hour event in May 2022, Amazon Pet Day returned as a 48-hour extravaganza in 2023 and 2024 and will span two days again this year.
Running Tuesday, May 13 – Wednesday, May 14 and open to all consumers, Amazon Pet Day features thousands of pet products on sale. Leading up to the event, additional early deals will begin Tuesday, April 29.
Specific product categories that will be included in the sale are pet food and treats, toys, apparel, health care products, grooming supplies, litter and odor products, electronics, cleaners, and habitats. Featured brands include Purina Pro Plan, IAMS, Hill’s Science Diet, Jinx, IRIS, FurHaven, Oh Norman!, BarkBox, Pet Genie, PetSafe, Pet Honesty, and Ruffwear.
Members of the Amazon Prime paid subscription program will receive Pet Day deals on top of any existing Prime savings. Amazon Prime fast, free delivery benefits will also be available for eligible products.
According to analysis provided to Chain Store Age by Affinity Solutions, during the week it hosted the 2024 edition of Pet Day Amazon saw a 4.8% year-over-year increase in overall sales.

Amazon has spring sales fever
Spring is proving to be a busy season for Amazon sales promotions. Through Sunday, May 11 (Mother’s Day), the Amazon Mother’s Day Shop features holiday-themed products such as greeting cards, gift sets, flowers, brunch ingredients, hosting items, and outfits, as well as curated collections such as deals, most-loved, and top 100+ products.
The online giant is also currently running a seasonal Easter Hub with discounts on traditional holiday items such as toys, candy, Easter basket stuffers, apparel, and brunch ingredients. Brands including Laura Mercier, The Ordinary, Paula’s Choice, Tula Skincare and InBloom by Kate Hudson are running seasonal Easter storefronts on the Amazon e-commerce site.
And in late March, Amazon observed the arrival of spring by offering seasonal deals across more than 35 categories in its second annual Big Spring Sale.
Several more seasonal spring sales may still be in the offing if Amazon repeats its promotional calendar from 2024. The retailer hosted a weeklong Memorial Day sale during a busy May 2024 that also included the inaugural Amazon Book Sale as well as the Summer Beauty Haul, which despite its name concurrently with the Amazon Book sale.
In addition, Amazon Gaming Week took place April 30 – May 5, 2024.
