  • ICSC: Holiday sales to increase 4%; strongest gain in three years

    New York -- The International Council of Shopping Centers forecasts a 4.0% increase in sales during the November-December holiday shopping period, the strongest gain in three years, amid positive economic signals. Total holiday shopping sales at shopping centers is estimated to be $488.6 billion in the same period.

  • GameStop updates app with enhanced personalization and other features

    Grapevine, Texas -- GameStop announced the first in a series of updates to its GameStop app on mobile devices, and a chance for users who download the new app to win 1,000,000 PowerUp Rewards points.

  • ChannelAdvisor: Amazon, EBay same-stores sales soar in September

    Morrisville. N.C. – Same-store sales soared at Amazon.com and EBay during September 2014. According to e-commerce technology provider ChannelAdvisor, Amazon's September same-store sales growth came in at 37.9%, a decrease compared to August's 45.1%.  

    Even with a decrease from August to September, 37.9% is more than twice the growth rate of e-commerce.

  • Accenture: Holiday spending to increase; discount stores top destination

    New York -- One-quarter (25%) of U.S. consumers plans to spend more on holiday shopping this year up from 20% in 2013, and spending on holiday gifts is expected to average $718, according to Accenture’s annual holiday shopping survey.

    The survey also found consumer enthusiasm for Black Friday shopping has reached its highest level in eight years. Two-thirds of respondents (66%) said they are likely to shop on Black Friday, compared to 55% who planned to do so in 2013.

  • Avon revamps website

    As part of its digital strategy, Avon has revamped its website.

    "The Avon representative and her social circles have been the core of our business for more than 125 years," says Matt Harker, VP, Avon North America marketing. "The new site and a recently launched social media center help to forge strong connections between the representative and her consumers. We are giving her the tools, training and incentives to be a successful multichannel social seller."

  • Coty to expand brands portfolio

    Coty has submitted a binding offer to acquire the Bourjois cosmetics brand from Chanel for 15 million Class A Coty shares. Chanel has agreed to enter into exclusive negotiations.

    Bourjois’ portfolio of color cosmetic products are sold through approximately 23,000 points of sale in more than 50 countries around the world. Bourjois was founded in 1863, by French actor Joseph-Albert Ponsin, who developed a line of color cosmetics for his fellow actors.

  • Overstock allows customers to shop directly from their TVs via Delivery Agent

    New York -- Delivery Agent announced a deal with online retailer Overstock that will enable consumers with Smart TV and connected device homes to shop for items on Overstock directly from their television via Delivery Agent's ShopTV t-commerce platform.

    Running now through Oct. 15, the "Overstocktober" campaign will enable viewers to buy products directly from Overstock television commercials.
