  • A match made at Meijer helps with hunger

    Meijer is incenting customers to make generous donations to hunger relief organizations by offering to double their contributions.

    As part of the retailer’s Simply Give hunger relief program, plans call for Meijer to contribute $20 every time a customer donates $10 resulting in a combined $30 donation to local food pantries. The company conducts its Simply Given campaign three times a year. The Spring effort runs through May 7 but the generous matching offer is good April 17-18.

  • Cause merchandising under way at Kohl's

    Kohl’s is moving toward a $300 million threshold in its long-running Kohl’s Cares cause merchandise program with the latest iteration of the program involving products from the author and illustrator team of Philip and Erin Stead.

    From now through June 27, Kohl’s customers who purchase books or plush items for $5 will see the entire net profit of their purchase used to support children’s health and education initiatives nationwide.

  • The Picture People to open locations in Cafaro malls

    Youngstown, Ohio -- The Picture People will open new studios in four Cafaro malls, according to the Youngstown, Ohio-based mall owner. The studios, which range in size from 1,800 sq. ft. to 2,700 sq. ft., will open by late May in Eastwood Mall (Niles, Ohio), Governor’s Square Mall (Clarksville, Tennessee), Huntington Mall (Barboursville, West Virginia) and Kentucky Oaks Mall (Paducah, Kentucky). In each case, this will be the first location for The Picture People in those respective states.
