  • Integrating Loyalty Promos Without Rocking the Margin Boat

    Retailers often have trouble balancing their overall promotions plan with offers and discounts for their loyalty program. In fact, it may be enough of an issue that they keep loyalty as an independent P&L entity, or even steer clear of loyalty altogether to avoid the problem. After all, every retail business is about profit, and adding another layer of promotional discounts into the mix could be seen as a threat to the bottom line.

  • Oscar Mayer introduces bacon jerky

    If you’ve ever wished you could have bacon on the go, then the Oscar Mayer Institute for the Advancement of Bacon (OMIFAB) has some good news for you.

    Oscar Mayer has unveiled Bacon Jerky, available in two flavors — Bourbon Barbecue and Teriyaki Ginger — and packaged in an on-the-go bacon jerky pouch.

  • Staples partners with Fundable for crowdfunding contest

    Staples has teamed up with Fundable, a business crowdfunding platform, to launch a new contest called Crowd2Shelf, which invites entrepreneurs and small businesses to leverage crowdfunding for a chance to sell their products in Staples stores as well as online.

  • P.S. From Aeropostale launches brand in Mexico, 100 stores on tap

    New York -- Aeropostale, Inc. will roll out its P.S. from Aeropostale brand in Mexico through a licensing partnership with Distribuidora Liverpool, S.A. de C.V.  

    P.S. from Aeropostale's expansion plans in Mexico include the opening of branded in-store shops in Liverpool department stores, as well as standalone stores, across Mexico beginning in summer 2014. The first store opened in July at Sante Fe Mall in Mexico City.

  • Under Armour taps Cardinals cornerback as ambassador

    Under Armour has signed a multi-year partnership with Arizona Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson. As brand ambassador, Peterson will wear Under Armour cleats and clothes on the field and during training.
     

  • BareMinerals opens pop-up shop in New York

    San Francisco – Specialty cosmetics retailer BareMinerals is opening a pop-up “Shade Shop” in the SoHo neighborhood of New York, Aug. 1 to Aug. 2. The assortment is merchandised by shade family – light, medium, tan, dark and deep – in a streamlined, easy-to-navigate environment.

    The store will also feature a rotating color bar. Designed as a playground to test new concepts, BareMinerals will refresh the shop seasonally, with the first transformation taking place in November.
