    New York City -- Harris Corp. and Digital Display Networks are bringing one of the largest digital out-of-home (DOOH) advertising networks in the United States -- 7-Eleven TV -- to full nationwide deployment.

  • OfficeMax unveils upgraded dry erase markers

    Naperville, Ill. — OfficeMax announced that is unveiling a new and improved version of its TUL branded dry erase markers.

    TUL dry erase markers feature non-toxic ink formula with reduced odor, a rubberized grip, ergonomic square design, and built-in magnets compatible with magnetic dry-erase boards. The lineup also includes an eraser on the cap of each marker as well as a separate magnetic eraser.

  • Loehmann's back and ready to nab the frugal fashionista

    NEW YORK -- Loehmann's has emerged from Chapter 11 bankruptcy and is ready to position itself has the destination for top designer clothing for less. The company said it will focus its merchandising strategy on well-known designer brands that resonate with its frequent shoppers. The company has also refined its advertising outreach to communicate with Loehmann's core customers and potential new shoppers.

  • New chef named to Macy's Culinary Council

    NEW YORK -- Marc Forgione is the latest chef to join Macy's Culinary Council, the company announced. According to Macy's, the council is "a team of talented and distinguished chefs who serve to inspire the way Macy's customers shop, cook and eat at home.

    Forgione, who was recently crowned season three winner of Food Network's TheNext Iron Chef, will kick-off his new position on Macy's Culinary Council with an in-store cooking demonstration at Macy's Chicago on State Street on March 8 at noon.

    SALISBURY, N.C. -- Food Lion is promoting its private labels by offering its loyalty club members the opportunity to earn up to $10 in free groceries when they buy private brand products through March 29. 

  • Ralphs announces charitable campaign to benefit children's hospitals

    LOS ANGELES — A Kroger banner based in Los Angeles has kicked off a charitable campaign to benefit children's hospitals based in Southern California.

    Ralphs on Monday said it is raising funds through its nonprofit, The Ralphs Fund, by asking customers and associates to donate their spare change in collection canisters located at Ralphs checkout stands.

    Southern California children's hospitals that will benefit from the charitable fundraising drive include:

    Children's Hospital of Orange County;

    Children's Hospital of Los Angeles;

  • Payless finds a good model for sustainability

    TOPEKA, Kan. -- Earlier today, Retailing Today reported that several apparel and footwear industry heavyweights were teaming up to promote best practices in sustainability, and now Payless has announced that it will support eco-model and Payless brand partner Summer Rayne Oakes who will wear the same little black dress throughout the month of March.

  • Report: Toys ‘R’ Us considers $800 million IPO for April

    Wayne, N.J. -- A New York Post report on Saturday said that Toys “R” Us is considering an initial public offering in April to raise around $800 million, although a final decision has not been reached.

    The retailer shelved IPO plans in 2010; it has not commented on the latest report that IPO talks have resurfaced.
