Target(ing) back-to-school trends
MINNEAPOLIS Target is gearing up for back-to-school and back-to-college season, touting its latest offerings in school supplies, fashion and dorm room decor.
Target's efforts to position itself as a back-to-school leader include a new line of notebooks, binders, highlighters and backpacks from Italian artist Simone Legno, new designs in boys and young men's fashion from the from the Shaun White 4 Target collection and dorm room solutions from designer Dror Benshetrit.
"At Target we know that the back-to-school and back-to-college season can be hectic for families," says Kathee Tesija, EVP Target. "We strive to make it easy for families by offering the convenience of one-stop shopping and a wide product assortment of affordably priced and stylish products that meet students' needs from kindergarten through college."
Target predicted a number of trends for the season and pointed to products it had available to satisfy students' tastes. For eco-conscious students, for example, Target said it is offering Ecogear Organic Cotton Ecozoo backpacks in animal shapes for the youngest students for $29.99.
