Giant Eagle Inc. has a new partner to help it deliver targeted digital offers to customers.

The Pittsburgh-based regional food, fuel and pharmacy retailer is entering an exclusive collaboration with mobile rewards and payments platform Ibotta to provide digital promotions across its 200-plus supermarkets and digital platforms.

By integrating with the Ibotta Performance Network (IPN) publisher network, Giant Eagle intends to provide its customers with a larger, curated gallery of digital offers that will increase both the quantity and relevance of available savings compared to previous offerings. This will include digital promotions from Giant Eagle’s CPG brand partners, with measurement available.

Giant Eagle is partnering with Ibotta as part of its recently announced “Because It Matters” business strategy, a multi-year plan designed to deliver better everyday value and a modernized shopping experience.

“At Giant Eagle, our 'Because It Matters' strategy is our promise to prioritize what truly matters to our guests: quality, service, and meaningful value,” said Justin Weinstein, executive VP and chief merchandising and marketing officer at Giant Eagle. “Partnering with Ibotta allows us to deliver on that promise by providing our shoppers with hundreds of high-quality, brand-name promotions accessible anytime on the groceries they buy most.”

Shoppers can expect new, expanded offer sets supported by Ibotta to begin rolling out across Giant Eagle’s digital footprint in the coming months.

Founded in 1931 and headquartered in Pittsburgh, Giant Eagle Inc. operates more than 200 stores throughout western Pennsylvania, north central Ohio, northern West Virginia, Maryland and Indiana.

Ibotta is headquartered in Denver and reaches over 200 million consumers through the Ibotta Performance Network.
