Ibotta will provide Instacart customers third-party coupons

Ibotta is in a new digital coupon partnership with Instacart.

A mobile rewards and payments platform is expanding its presence in the online delivery space.

Ibotta will provide Instacart customers with access to its catalog of digital coupons through a new partnership with Instacart. By joining the Ibotta Performance Network (IPN), Instacart seeks to deliver more coupons that are timely and relevant to its consumers.

Going forward, Ibotta will be Instacart's preferred third-party coupon provider across all eligible categories of items on its mobile app and website. Ibotta-provided offers will be live across Instacart’s platform later in 2024.

Ibotta has entered similar IPN partnerships with a number of other retailers including SchnucksFamily Dollar and Dollar General. Meanwhile, in another recent move to improve its use as an advertising vehicle for CPG brands, Instacart released new ad solutions that promote product discovery through recipes, occasions and bundles, leading Instacart users to find inspiration for new cooking ideas.

"We are excited to enter into this strategic partnership with Instacart, which represents the first grocery technology company to join the Ibotta Performance Network," said Bryan Leach, founder and CEO of Ibotta. "The addition of Instacart will allow our 2,400 CPG brand partners to reach millions of additional consumers with targeted promotions on Instacart’s app and website, all while benefiting from our network’s unprecedented real-time measurement capabilities."

Instacart also offers self-serve ads for CPG brand partners, including shoppable video ads.

"Our partnership with Ibotta is designed to benefit both consumers, by providing valuable savings, and CPG brands, by continuing to drive real business impact and consumer engagement. We work with more than 5,500 CPG brands and we believe Ibotta will help us quickly scale our CPG-funded promotions business."

Ibotta is headquartered in Denver. Based in San Francisco, Instacart partners with more than 1,500 national, regional, and local retail banners to facilitate online shopping, delivery and pickup services from more than 85,000 stores across North America.
