  • NPD: Online, smaller metro markets driving apparel sales

    New York -- New York and Los Angeles may be the largest U.S. markets in terms of apparel sales, but online and smaller markets such as Orlando, Florida, and Washington, D.C., are the top markets driving both growth rate and dollar volume increases for the industry, according to global information company The NPD Group.  

    Both Orlando and Washington had strong performance across in-store and online channels.

  • Ace Hardware expands OPI paint collection

    Ace Hardware is looking to lure more female shoppers into the largely male domain of the hardware store with its latest partnership with OPI.

    Following the retailer/s launch last year of an inaugural paint palette from OPI, the hardware cooperative is adding even more colors, including colors from the new Hawaii Collection by OPI.

  • Sportsman's Warehouse expands in Oregon

    Sportsman's Warehouse is resorting to a cash giveaway to ensure a strong crowd at its newest store as it expands in Oregon. 

    To celebrate the grand opening, the first 200 families through the door will receive a free Sportsman's Warehouse $20 gift card and Sportsman's Warehouse hat. When the doors open at the Sportsman’s Warehouse in Klamath Falls, Ore., the store will be the retailer’s sixth location in the state of Oregon.

  • Target responds to Lilly Pulitzer frenzy and angry customers

    New York -- Target Corp. is responding to customers frustrated by their inability to buy items from the chain’s Lilly Pulitzer collection. The limited-edition line went live in the stores and online Sunday morning, with most of the items selling out within minutes.

  • Pandora opens shops in collaboration with Disney Parks and Resorts

    Baltimore -- Pandora Jewelry, in collaboration with Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, has opened dedicated shops within two Disney merchandise locations: Uptown Jewelers in Magic Kingdom Park at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida and La Mascarade d'Orleans in Disneyland park in California.

    Both locations carry Pandora’s newly released spring 2015 Disney jewelry collection and the Disney Parks collection, as well as the brand’s full assortment of jewelry.

  • HSN launches multiplatform Sigrid Olsen campaign

    HSN is leveraging the 30-year career of designer Sigrid Olsen to launch a multi-platform marketing campaign.

    The retailer is producing a show on HSN with Olsen that premieres this month to coincide with the debut of the Spring 2015 collection of her first women's fashion line since 2008. The show is just one facet of a campaign on social media, mobile and online.
