    LOS ANGELES, Calif. — The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, a leading specialty coffee and tea retailer, is leveraging wireless technology to retain existing customers and encourage new ones to come into their stores. 

    The company will test wireless charging with Power Matters Alliance at select Los Angeles locations and plans to deploy wireless charging with PMA in dozens of California stores this quarter, with the aim of expanding nationally and internationally shortly thereafter.

  • Golfsmith expansion continues with new store in Ohio

    Dayton, Ohio -- Golfsmith International, is opening a store Beavercreek, Ohio, with an grand opening celebration on May 10-May 12.

    The new 20,845-sq.-ft. store features a dominant selection of the best brands in golf and the ultimate 'try before you buy' interactive environment. The store has three high-tech golf simulators and an expansive indoor putting green that enable customers to experience the latest equipment.

    Three-year-old yellow Labrador Retriever Flash took the top prize.

  • Target opens pop-up dollhouse in Grand Central Station

    New York -- Target isn’t letting any grass grow under its feet when it comes to the suddenly hot category of home goods and home furnishings. The discounter has installed a giant, two-story dollhouse — some 21 ft. high and occupying some 1,500 sq. ft. of space — smack in the middle of Vanderbuilt Hall in New York City’s Grand Central Station. The temporary installation is designed to promote Target’s new Threshold brand and is completely furnished and accessorized with furniture, decor, and housewares from the collection.

  • ProFlowers extends online footprint

    SAN DIEGO — Online fresh flowers retailer ProFlowers is launching a ProFlowers-branded store on eBay, extending its online reach.

    The new ProFlowers eBay storefront features a broad assortment of fresh flowers, plants and product bundles including vases and chocolates, much like its existing online e-commerce site. Its eBay store also prominently features a “Deal of the Week” specially priced bouquet and vase.
