  • Macys hits the runway

    New York -- Macy's is planning a catwalk show of its own to close out the biggest fashion week of the year.

    The retailer announced that it will host “Macy’s Presents Fashion’s Front Row” on Sept. 17 in New York City, featuring celebrities, musical acts and a runway show.

  • Overstock outfits a partnership with HGTV

    Overstock.com is embarking on a promotion that promises to wow many of its core shoppers, as well as avid viewers of home and garden shows.

    The retailer is partnering with HGTV to furnish a home as part of the annual HGTV Urban Oasis 2015 giveaway. This year's home is an approximately 1,300-square-foot bungalow located in the heart of trendy artistic enclave Asheville, N.C. (as shown above).

    The retailer presented its inaugural A Day of Beauty event at the Music City Center, Davidson Ballroom, in downtown Nashville, on Aug. 8.

    Kroger and Eckrich came together with a special guest this week to honor -- and surprise -- a U.S. veteran.

    The retailer and Eckrich hosted NASCAR driver Aric Almirola at Kroger headquarters to give medically retired Army Specialist John Dietz and his family one year of free groceries at Kroger.

  • JLL goes to the dogs

    Chicago -- Some shopping centers are getting dog friendly.

    In response to consumer demand for dog-friendly retail centers, nearly 30 JLL-managed properties are now encouraging shoppers to bring their canine companions to the mall for themed events from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. each Wednesday in August.

    The newly launched Dog Days program will test the markets’ receptiveness to a dog-friendly shopping experience with four themed nights at participating centers:
