Amazon gets early jump on Valentine’s Day with promotional sale
Winter holiday decorations are just coming down, but Amazon is already onto its next seasonal holiday promotion.
In an email to Chain Store Age, an Amazon representative said its Valentine’s Day sales event is officially underway and will last through the Valentine’s Day holiday, Saturday, Feb. 14. The retailer is offering an online Valentine’s Day Shop it says will offer a one-stop destination featuring curated collections, including categories such as personalized and handmade gifts, “Galentine’s Day,” and “Top 100+.”
In addition, the online holiday hub will let shoppers can also filter by recipient and price point to find top gifts for women, men, teens, kids and pets; as well as items priced under $10, under $50 and under $100.
This is not the first time Amazon has provided Valentine’s Day shoppers with a dedicated holiday storefront. In 2024, the online giant even included a feature called “Get it by Tomorrow” on its Valentine’s Day Hub, which was designed to enable last-minute shoppers to order a gift with confidence that it would arrive in time for Valentine’s Day.
While Amazon is best-known for its widescale extravaganzas such as Prime Day, Prime Big Deal Days, and its annual Black Friday week promotion, the retailer also has a long tradition of smaller sales specially focused on a holiday, season or product category.
Most recently, these included the Amazon Holiday Beauty Haul which ended in early November, as well as an early holiday sale on its bargain-priced Amazon Haul online storefront and app which was aimed at competing with the annual 11.11 Shopping Festival hosted by Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba.
In addition, spring has become a busy time for more narrowly-focused Amazon sales promotions. In 2025, these included a dedicated Father’s Day Shop storefront, a Memorial Day sale, a 48-hour Pet Day sale, a Mother’s Day Shop and its second annual Big Spring Sale that celebrated the beginning of spring in late March.
