No membership required for Office Depot online discount event

Office Depot is countering Prime Day with a three-day digital sales promotion that is open to all consumers.

The office supply chain is hosting Depot Discount Days on its e-commerce site Oct. 13-15, overlapping the 48-hour Amazon Prime Day promotion. Office Depot has quite a bit of company in its effort to challenge Prime Day for bargain shoppers, as retailers including Ace Hardware, J.C. Penney, Best Buy, BJ’s Wholesale Club, and Target and Walmart are offering their own competing events.

Office Depot is cutting prices on discounted items by up to 60%. While membership in the retailer’s rewards program is not required to obtain a discount, members can get two times rewards back on qualifying items. Depot Discount Days purchases are also eligible for free in-store and curbside pickup at most locations.

Qualifying orders of $60 or more receive free next-business-day shipping, and for a limited time same-day shipping is available for $10 instead of the usual $15 fee. Products are available at discount prices in categories including PCs, printers, seating, furniture, tech accessories, and more.
