Ace pulls two-day e-commerce event from its sleeve

Ace Hardware Corp. is a last-minute addition to the roster of retailers competing with Amazon Prime Day.

The largest retailer-owned hardware cooperative in the world is holding its second annual Ace Rewards Day Oct. 13-14. This online sales event directly competes with the 48-hour Amazon Prime Day promotion. Other retailers hosting events to compete with Prime Day include J.C. Penney, Best Buy, BJ’s Wholesale Club, and both Target and Walmart. In addition, multiple retailers and brands collaborated to hold the inaugural 10.10 Shopping Festival.

Ace is providing exclusive deals to members of its reward program and select savings for non-members on AceHardware.com. The event offers exclusive, limited-time deals and free assembly and delivery on a variety of products from participating stores (no free same-day delivery).

During Ace Rewards Day, non-members will receive 10% off qualifying online orders with code "OCT,” while members can save 15% with code "REWARDS." Customers can sign-up for Ace Rewards online to gain access to exclusive member deals.

"We're celebrating our Ace rewards members and thanking them for their loyalty by continuing to offer free delivery on some of our key categories and adding even more deals to this year's Ace Rewards Day," said Bill Kiss, head of digital, retail and innovation strategy for Ace Hardware Corp. "As the holidays approach, Ace customers can choose to shop either in-store or online where they have access to tens of thousands of products on AceHardware.com, including the one just right for them."

Headquartered in Oak Brook, Ill., Ace Hardware has more than 5,300 locally-owned and operated hardware stores in approximately 70 countries.
