A leading warehouse club chain is the latest retailer to directly challenge Amazon’s Prime Day sales extravaganza.
BJ’s Wholesale Club Holdings Inc. is launching its Black Friday holiday campaign early with the “Beyond Amazing Savings Event” Oct. 13-14. These are the same two days Amazon is hosting its annual Prime Day promotion. In addition, Best Buy is also kicking off Black Friday Oct. 13-14; and Target, Walmart, and the 10.10 Shopping Festival are all running omnichannel sales events that overlap with Prime Day.
BJ’s members will be able to shop limited-time deals on electronics, small appliances, toys and more in-store and online. On Oct. 20th and 21st, BJ’s will offer members another chance to save with the Beyond Amazing Savings Event Encore. The retailer is also offering early bird savings Nov. 5-30, Black Friday savings Nov. 20-30, and five-day deals Nov. 26-30 (all while supplies last).
Beginning Nov. 5, customers can check the BJ’s e-commerce site for exclusive daily offers, surprise deals and limited-time savings throughout the holiday season, while supplies last. BJ’s will also close physical stores on Thanksgiving, as it has for more than a decade.
“The holiday season is going to look different this year, so we’ve made saving seamless with earlier-than-ever deals and more ways to shop,” said Molly Cox, senior VP, general merchandise, BJ’s Wholesale Club. “Whether our members choose to shop from their couch or in-club, we’re offering convenient and safe shopping options. Plus, we’re extending our savings throughout the season so members can get their holiday shopping done wherever, whenever.”
Headquartered in Westborough, Mass., BJ's currently operates 219 club stores and 148 gas locations in 17 states.
