  • Target’s new website is slammed

    The new Target.com website went live last Tuesday just as Target News Now was hitting in-boxes with an item about the relaunch that began, “Just launch the new site already.” Well, now that the completely reengineered site is operational, it marks the company’s first step on an ambitious plan for multi-channel expansion, according to Target.com president Steve Eastman.

  • Junction Solutions to co-host three events with Microsoft Dynamics

    Denver -- Junction Solutions said Thursday it will co-host three events on Sept. 8 to announce global launch of Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012.

    Together with Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer, Microsoft Business Solutions President Kirill Tatarinov and Nigel Montgomery, research director for Gartner Research, Junction Solutions will host half-day events in Cincinnati, St. Louis, and in Mountain View, Calif. 

  • Fresh & Easy powers up REC solar panels at 11 stores

    Phoenix -- Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market said Thursday it has turned on 11 rooftop solar installations in Phoenix and Los Angeles. The panels, installed by REC Solar, will provide 536 kW of power and supply 20% of each store’s energy needs.

  • Estée Lauder CFO to retire in 2013

    NEW YORK — The Estée Lauder Companies announced that Richard Kunes, EVP and CFO, plans to retire effective on or about June 30, 2013. Kunes intends to continue to serve the company as CFO until June 30, 2012, or such earlier time as his successor begins to serve as CFO. Thereafter, he will continue his relationship with the company as EVP, senior advisor to the CEO, and work on special projects through June 30, 2013. The company will begin to assess internal personnel as well as external candidates for CFO.

  • eBay completes buyout of open source e-commerce platform

    SAN JOSE, Calif. — eBay announced that it has completed its previously announced acquisition of Magento Inc., the creators of Magento, a leading open source e-commerce platform. The deal follows eBay’s acquisition of a minority stake in the company in 2010. eBay now owns 100% of the outstanding shares of Magento. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

  • Sears Holdings names finance chief

    HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. — Sears Holdings announced Tuesday that Robert Schriesheim will join the company as EVP and CFO.  Schriesheim, who starts with the company immediately as EVP, will assume his responsibilities as CFO effective Aug. 22.

    Schriesheim, 51, most recently was CFO for Hewitt Associates, leading the company's global financial and administrative roles until its merger with Aon Corp.

  • Liz Claiborne renews cloud supply chain contract with GT Nexus

    Oakland, Calif. -- GT Nexus announced Tuesday that Liz Claiborne has extended its contract for a supply chain visibility and control platform.

    Delivered as a cloud service, the platform gives Liz Claiborne the capability to tightly monitor and control inventory flows between suppliers, logistics providers, distribution centers and customers.
