  • Mobile rules Thanksgiving weekend traffic

    New YorkOnline sales were up 17% on Saturday and Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend, compared to the same weekend in 2013, according to IBM Digital Analytics Benchmark. What's more, mobile traffic accounted for 51.2%  of all online traffic this past weekend, an increase of 25.5% year over year, and mobile sales accounted for 28.9% of all online sales this past weekend, an increase of 24.9% year over year.   
  • IBM: Cyber Monday online sales up 8.7% at mid-day; mobile accounts for 21.3% of all sales

    Cyber Monday online sales were up 8.7% as of 3 p.m. EST over the same period on Cyber Monday 2013, according to IBM Digital Analytics Benchmark, with mobile traffic accounting for 38.6%  of all online traffic, up 28.8% over last year.   Mobile sales accounted for 21.3% of all online sales on Cyber Monday, an increase of 29.3% year over year.    Here are the key drivers behind the Cyber Monday trends, according to IBM:

  • IBM: Online sales rise 19% pre-Thanksgiving weekend

    Armonk, N.Y. - Online sales were up 18.7% the weekend before Thanksgiving (Nov. 22-23) compared to the same two-day period in 2013. According to IBM Digital Benchmark analysis, mobile traffic accounted for 48.8% of all online traffic, an increase of 24.4% year-over-year.

    In addition, mobile sales accounted for 26.6% of all online sales, an increase of 23.9% year-over-year.

    In addition, mobile sales accounted for 26.6% of all online sales, an increase of 23.9% year-over-year.

  • RetailNext names IBM exec to marketing role

    Marc Dietz has joined big data analytics provider RetailNext as chief marketing officer.

    Dietz joins RetailNext from IBM where he led worldwide marketing for the company's SaaS portfolio, including multiple acquisitions such as DemandTec, Coremetrics, and Silverpop. Prior to the $440 million acquisition of DemandTec by IBM, Dietz led all marketing efforts at the cloud-based analytics provider for retailers and consumer products companies. He helped grow DemandTec from an early stage through IPO in 2007, and the IBM transaction in 2012, according to RetailNext.
