    NEW YORK -- Iconix Brand Group has unveiled its spring 2011 multi-media advertising and marketing campaign featuring actress Vanessa Hudgens for its junior brand, Candie's.  Candie's is sold exclusively at Kohl's Department Stores nationwide and Kohls.com.  

  • Rite Aid kicks off contest for Wellness+ members

    CAMP HILL, Pa. - Rite Aid on Monday sweetened the pot for those loyalty card members braving the cold and visiting the pharmacy in February.

    With the purchase of $100 or more of specially marked products throughout the store, Rite Aid’s Wellness+ cardholders can earn a $20 +UP Reward, and at the same time be automatically entered into a sweepstakes featuring more than $100,000 in prizes, as part of Rite Aid's new Winter Rewards Program through Feb. 26.

  • Former Target foe takes on JCP

    Activist investor and hedge fund executive Bill Ackman has accomplished at J.C. Penney what he was unable to do at Target. He secured a seat on the department store retailer’s board after purchasing a bunch of shares and will now be able to push for strategies to increase shareholder value. Joining Ackman on the J.C. Penney board is another large shareholder, Steven Roth, chairman of Vornado Realty Trust.

  • Walmart to offer discounted tickets to African-American museum exhibition

    BENTONVILLE, Ark. - Walmart, the presenting sponsor of the America I AM: The African-American Imprint tour, will offer specially-priced tickets at select Walmart stores in the Washington, D.C. area.

    Walmart is offering tickets at the lowest available price: $10 for adults and $5 for children, or 17% off standard ticket prices.

    America I AM is a four-year touring museum exhibition that celebrates nearly 500 years of African-American contributions to this country.

  • Poll reveals different attitude about NYC Walmart

    A new poll regarding Walmart's possible entry in New York yielded quite different responses than the one the world's largest retailer featured on its promotional website. According to the New York Daily News, a survey of 300 small retail shop owners throughout the city overwhelmingly said they would not welcome a Walmart in their neighborhood.

  • Kardashian Kollection Komes to Sears

    HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. -- Sears, along with Bruno Schiavi's Jupi International, have teamed up with Kim, Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian to launch the Kardashian Kollection in 400 Sears stores nationwide in August. In a first for the sisters, the new brand will be included in exclusive shopping destinations created inside Sears department stores, the company reported.

  • Area marketing director named for two Mills properties

    Ontario, Calif. -- Indianapolis-based Simon Property Group announced that Masa Liles has joined The Mills, a Simon Co., as area director of marketing for Ontario Mills, California’s largest outlet and value retail shopping destination, and The Block at Orange, an open-air shopping, dining and entertainment destination in southern California.
