Walmart kicks off summer with free frozen treats
BENTONVILLE, Ark. Walmart is giving out free frozen treats at select Supercenters on May 30 as part of its second annual ice cream social. Treats will include Ben and Jerry's Flipped Out Cup ice cream, Blue Bunny Aspen Frozen Yogurt Granola Bars and Dibs Snack Bags.
"Considering that the United States is the world's leader in pre-packaged ice cream consumption, we're committed to making it easier for consumers throughout the country to enjoy the cool treats they want at prices they can afford," said Tyler Lehr, senior category director for frozen food at Walmart. "To highlight this commitment, for the second year in a row we're hosting what may be the world's largest ice cream social event ever and are encouraging shoppers to come join us for a free frozen treat."
Walmart said it will hand out an estimated 1 million free pre-packaged ice cream treats in 2,000 participating Walmart Supercenters across America.
