  • Target offers lesson in loyalty to college kids

    Some priceless publicity to cement Target’s image as the cool place to shop came courtesy of The New York Times this week. The newspaper reported on and featured a video on its website of the retailer’s back-to-college efforts, which included chartering busses to ferry thousands of kids to its stores at 66 campuses nationwide.

  • WinCo Foods deploys aisle411 retail navigation platform

    St. Louis -- Mobile retail and navigation service aisle411 announced that WinCo Foods has deployed the aisle411 platform in its 79 stores.

    With the aisle411 App, users can instantly locate products in stores down to the specific section of the aisle, manage shopping lists, share experiences with friends via social media integration, and find mobile coupons.

    WinCo operates more than 79 stores and four distribution centers in the states of Washington, Idaho, Nevada, California, Oregon and Utah.
     

  • Target unveils Missoni pop-up at New York Fashion Week

    NEW YORK — The third annual Fashion’s Night Out -- created by Vogue editor Anna Wintour -- kicked off on Thursday, Sept. 8, at 6 p.m. Although the shopping extravaganza has spread to more than 100 U.S. cities as well as select cities abroad, its nexus remains in New York City. More than 1,000 Big Apple merchants and designers are participating in the event, which is the kickoff to the city’s Fashion Week industry gathering.

  • Piperlime names celebrity guest editors for fall season

    SAN FRANCISCO — Gap Inc.'s online boutiqe Piperlime announced that Rachel Bilson, Olivia Palermo and Byrdie Bell will join Rachel Zoe as guest editors to kick off the fall season.

    “The idea of hosting guest editors on Piperlime.com has been integral to who we are since the day we launched in 2006,” said Jennifer Gosselin, VP and general manager of Piperlime.  “We started with Rachel Zoe and her popularity and reach has grown since then,” Gosselin continued.

  • Stop & Shop gears up for back to school with new initiatives

    FAIRFIELD, Conn. — Stop & Shop has expanded its A+ School Rewards program and is introducing healthy store tours for kids.

    The A+ School Rewards program — which allows customers to designate the points they earn for every dollar spent at Stop & Shop to the school or schools of their choice by registering their Stop & Shop card at StopAndShop.com — increase its contribution to help fund schools with a commitment of $2.5 million.
