Storm Exchange appoints chief marketer
NEW YORK Storm Exchange, a market leader in helping companies and their end consumers hedge day-to-day weather risk, has announced the appointment of Jarvis Cromwell as chief marketing officer.
Cromwell has held senior marketing positions throughout the financial services industry. In addition to running his own consulting firm, he has previously served as senior vp and managing director of marketing for Thomson Financial. Prior to Thomson, Cromwell was managing director of marketing at Commonfund. He joined Commonfund from Citigroup, where he held various marketing and public affairs positions.
“Storm Exchange is in position to drive revolutionary change in financial risk management at a time of dramatically increased weather volatility. I cannot think of a more exciting place to be right now,” said Cromwell. “The weather is poised to become the financial market growth story of the next several years because it impacts literally billions of transactions around the world – from the purchase of a sweater on a cool autumn day to the price orange juice after a December freeze. I am thrilled to be part of the talented team at Storm Exchange that is helping companies and individuals exert more control over Mother Nature.”
