Costco offers cash for CE recycling
ISSAQUAH, Wash. Costco is now offering its customers the chance to turn in their electronic products for cash.
According to the Costco Web site, through its Trade-In and Recycle program, Costco said it will offer to purchase qualifying electronics for a certain price based on the product's configuration and condition. The company added that if an item doesn't qualify for any trade-in value, the item can be recycled for free.
The Web site also stated that Costco's recycling program employs a zero tolerance landfill policy meaning all of the material that is subject to recycling is disassembled by hand, carefully separated and eventually utilized as feedstock for various raw material extraction processes (including smelting and refining). Shipping for both trade-in and recycle items is free.
