Walmart features special discount events

As mentioned above, 2024 has been a busy year for promotional extravaganzas at Walmart. The retailer just wrapped up Walmart+ Week, a seven-day omnichannel sales extravaganza with offers and savings exclusively for members of Walmart+.

Walmart+ Week was first introduced in 2023, when it lasted four days and coincided with the annual Amazon Prime Day discount event for members of the Amazon Prime paid subscription offering. Amazon has not yet released the specific dates for its 10th annual 2024 Prime Day event, beyond saying it will be held this July.

Walmart initially launched Walmart+ in September 2020, and has added a number of features, perks and partnerships since. Walmart+, which the retailer has always said is not intended to be a competing service to Amazon Prime, costs $98 for its annual plan or $49 for qualifying government assistance recipients.

Walmart also ran its “Super Spring Savings Week” sale online and in-store in March 2024. The Super Spring Savings Week promotion was open to all customers.
