Two more retailers are throwing their Santa hats into the early holiday kickoff ring.

Target and Kohl’s are both offering omnichannel sales the first full week of October that are at least partially being presented as the first promotion of the this year's holiday season. They are joining an increasingly large group of Tier I retailers targeting holiday shoppers well before Halloween that also includes Best Buy, Amazon and Macy’s.

Retailers are getting an extra-early start to the holidays in the wake of mixed consumer spending forecasts and uncertainties over the cost and availability of merchandise.
