  • Ulta Beauty names Motorola Mobility CFO to board

    Bolingbrook, Ill. — Vanessa Wittman, senior VP and CFO of Motorola Mobility, a subsidiary of Google, has been appointed the Ulta Beauty board of directors and as a member of its audit committee, effective June 5, 2014, following her election at the company’s annual shareholder meeting. Wittman joins the Ulta Beauty board with more than 25 years of experience in finance and technology.

  • Fairway launches same-day delivery with Google Express; reports loss

    New York – Fairway Market has begun working with Google Express to launch an online shopping platform with same-day delivery throughout Manhattan. The shopping interface allows consumers to shop approximately 12,000 Fairway SKUs seamlessly across multiple devices.

    The integration of Google Express allows Fairway to leverage Google's technology and distribution network to increase delivery capacity and expand the Fairway footprint.

  • GimmeAnother launches mobile shopping cart

    Chicago - GimmeAnother, creators of a mobile application that allows consumers to re-order, has unveiled its Save to Mobile technology, a service that allows retailers to offer customers the ability to save products directly onto their mobile devices. Customers browsing a retailer website that has partnered with GimmeAnother can now click the Save to Mobile button next to an item to push that product to their personalized mobile cart on the GimmeAnother app for later re-ordering via smartphone.

  • Survey: Google and Costco tops in compensation and benefits

    New York -- Google and Costco Wholesale Corp. came out on top in a survey of large companies with the best compensation and benefits for workers by jobs site Glassdoor. Rounding out the top five were Facebook, Adobe and Epic.

    The ranking was based on an online anonymous survey that asked employees to rate how satisfied they were with their pay and benefits on a scale of 1 to 5. Costco and Google both received a score of 4.4 out of 5. Google ranked higher than Costco only by fractions of a point.

  • Google Play Store accepting payments via PayPal

    New York -- Google announced that it will accept PayPal as a method of payment, in addition to credit cards, carrier billing, and gift cards, for its Play Store. The announcement came as a surprise in that PayPal is essentially a competitor to Google’s own Wallet service.

  • Google buys marketing analytics firm Adometry

    New York -- Google has purchased analytics firm Adometry, which helps advertisers get a better return on digital advertising by providing better attribution on the data collected about ads, including whether an ad was viewed, and whether it led to a sale.

  • Report: Google expanding same-day delivery service to Manhattan, Los Angeles

    New York -- Google is reportedly expanding its same-day Google Shopping Express service to Manhattan and Los Angeles, according to the New York Post.

    The service strives to make same-day deliveries from Fairway, Walgreens, Target, Costco and other retailers to anyplace in Manhattan for $4.99 per store, the report states.

    The article says that the service, first launched in San Francisco last year, will expand to Brooklyn and Queens in the coming months.
