Wayfair, Urban Outfitters hosting post-Prime Day sales events

Two retailers are commencing summer sales extravaganzas in the aftermath of Amazon Prime Day.

Amazon recently concluded Prime Day 2025 (July 8-11), which for the first time lasted four days. Numerous retailers including Walmart and Target ran competing events that overlapped Amazon’s annual summer sale.

However,  Wayfair and Urban Outfitters are waiting until late July to host multi-day summer discount bonanzas. Following are brief overviews of each event:

Wayfair 

Wayfair is kicking off "Black Friday in July," a five-day shopping event from Thursday, July 24- Monday, July 28. Shoppers can obtain up to 80% off across all categories, with 24-hour flash deals, limited-quantity doorbusters, and bonus savings for members of the Wayfair Rewards loyalty program. 

Early access begins Wednesday, July 23 exclusively in the Wayfair app. Everything ships free with some exclusions. The sale will be available on Wayfair and across its portfolio of brands, including AllModern, Joss & Main, and Birch Lane. 

Members of the Wayfair Professional program for trade and business customers will also have access to exclusive deals on thousands of products. Customers can shop online and through the Wayfair app, or redeem unique in-store offers at the Wayfair store outside Chicago, as well as all AllModern, Joss & Main and Birch Lane retail stores.

"We're bringing customers the kind of deals they expect from Black Friday: big, bold, and unbeatable," said Jon Blotner, president of commercial and operations at Wayfair. "This event delivers value and variety to help consumers refresh their homes and businesses just in time for back-to-school and the fall season."

Wayfair also recently offered its annual "Way Day" spring promotion in April 2025, and in March 2025 ran a seasonal multimedia brand campaign called "Welcome to the Wayborhood” for the second year in a row.

Urban Outfitters is targeting college students with UO Haul.

Urban Outfitters ia launching its first Annual "UO Haul Sale," a weeklong event focused on Gen Z back-to-college customers with savings in-store and online. From Tuesday, July 29 – Tuesday, Aug. 5, the UO Haul Sale will feature more than 1,000 styles. included in the sale will be new markdowns on standout items and brands. 

The first two days of the sale, July 29 - 30, are exclusively open to members of the Urban Outfitters UO Rewards loyalty program. The sale then opens to the general public from July 31 - August 5.

"The UO Haul Sale is more than a discount," said Shea Jensen, president at Urban Outfitters. "It's designed to celebrate our customer, reward their loyalty, and invite customers into the brand with value that doesn't compromise on style."

Throughout the sale, customers will receive real-time updates, curated picks, and best-of roundups from influencers and community creators, as well as access to limited-time offers.

The retailer is also running a 360-degree campaign called "UO Haul" designed to “inspire student style, energize small spaces, and celebrate individuality” for back-to-school shoppers. UO Haul features a dorm room makeover contest in partnership with HGTV and Pinterest; as well as products, citywide pop-ups, strategic brand partnerships, and surprise giveaways.
