Amazon sets dates for 96-hour Prime Day event

Amazon Prime Day dates 2025
Amazon has set its 2025 Prime Day dates.

Amazon has made the exact timing of this year’s Prime Day sales extravaganza official – and it will be longer than ever before.

Following a confirmation that it will be held in July, Amazon has announced that its Prime Day 2025 promotion will take place from Tuesday, July 8 – Friday, July 11. This marks the first time Prime Day will last four days.

New this year, Amazon introduces "Today's Big Deals," themed daily deal drops across top name brands that are exclusive to Prime members. These special offers launch daily at midnight PDT and remain available for a limited time while supplies last. Deals will drop as often as every five minutes during select periods throughout the event.

While Prime Day is restricted to members of the paid Prime membership service, whose perks include free expedited shipping on eligible items, Amazon offers a free 30-day trial membership option to allow customers to participate without having to fully join.

Early deals

Amazon will offer a number of early Prime Day deals days before the official start of the event. These include special prices beginning Tuesday, July 1 on school supplies and everyday household essentials starting at $3 from Amazon Basics, as well summer fashion from Amazon Essentials including dresses and swimwear starting at $12.

In addition, early access to deals from independent small business sellers drop Monday, June 23 – Sunday, July 6. And Prime members can save during the lead-up of Prime Day with discounts up to 40% on top products when they shop directly from participating brands' websites via Buy with Prime, which enables U.S.-based Prime members to directly shop online stores beyond Amazon using their Prime benefits on its website.

LeBron James featured in Prime Day promotions

Pro basketball legend LeBron James stars in Amazon's new Prime Day ad campaign, imagining how Prime Day deals can help him figure out "What's Next" in his career. Prime members can also shop deals from LeBron's brand “The Shop Men’s Grooming Line,” available on Amazon.

"New this year, we're offering exclusive deals including fuel discounts for summer travel, alongside some of our lowest prices of the year from top brands," said Jamil Ghani, VP of Amazon Prime. "Prime Day is about celebrating our members by providing them with exceptional savings and convenient delivery and now is an excellent time to save."

Other summer Prime savings

Amazon is offering some additional extra savings opportunities to Prime members during summer 2025. These include $1 off per gallon on one fuel purchase up to 35 gallons during the Fourth of July weekend (July 3-6) at more than 7,500 BP, Amoco, and participating AM/PM locations. Prime members have been receiving a fuel perk from participating BP brand fuel stations since October 2024.

Prime members can also save on summer deals from select top grocery brands on Amazon.com. And Prime members can save $10 on a Grubhub+ delivery order over $20 with the code "PRIME10" through Monday, July 7. Prime and Grubhub also have an existing joint discount program.

Amazon Prime Day 2024 produces big results

Amazon is preparing for Prime Day 2025 following an exceptionally successful edition of the event in 2024. According to Adobe Analytics data from more than one trillion visits to U.S. retail sites, 100 million SKUs, and 18 product categories, during the 48-hour period of July 16-17, 2024, consumers spent $14.2 billion online, representing 11% growth year-over-year from $12.7 billion in 2023.
