    Design is at the heart of Ethan Allen’s new “Design Center” retail format, which opened in Rockville, Maryland.   The store showcases the company’s new interactive design service and brings its robust website to life. The open floor plan has design stations and large touchscreens that invite customers to work directly on projects with the company’s design professionals in a space outfitted with the latest technology.   
  • First Look: Target’s new 'Connected Living' in-store pilot

    Target Corp. is testing some of the concepts from its innovative Open House format in San Francisco in a traditional store setting.   The discounter has debuted Connected Living, an in-store experience dedicated to showing customers how connected products can work together to make life easier, more convenient and more efficient. The test is taking place in Target’s Ridgedale location in Minnetonka, Minnesota.

The brand’s Californian roots, connections to nature and modernist vibe all come into play in the 2,828-sq.-ft. space, which has a relaxed, soothing ambience.

    Canadian specialty frozen food retailer M&M Meat Shops has changed its name to M&M Food Market as part of a total brand reinvention that includes a new store experience.

    Complete with new shopping carts, color-coded in-store signage, merchandising displays and a kitchen, the new store concept works to create a more effective, convenient and hands-on shopping experience.

    Designed by Shikatani Lacroix, the format is now being rolled out across Canada.

  • Target, Los Angeles

    A new guest service counter, interactive displays, new food vendors and LED track and valance lighting are just a few of the updates being tested in 25 Target stores in the Los Angeles area.   The initiative, called LA25, features different enhancements Target has been testing across stores and puts them all together to see how they impact stores and the customer experience.
