Target counters Prime Day with weeklong sales event
Target Circle Week returns in July.
Target Corp. is hosting Target Circle Week from Sunday, July 7 to Saturday, July 13, 2024. The discounter is announcing the event, which is exclusive for members of its free and recently revamped Target Circle loyalty program, the same day Amazon revealed it is holding its Amazon Prime Day sales extravaganza July 16-17.
The weeklong event will include deep discounts, personalized Target Circle bonuses, and early savings on back-to-school and college essentials in stores as well on Target’s e-commerce site and mobile app. Target will also run “Deal of the Day” special offers during the event, with one-day deals exclusively for Target Circle members including a Starbucks buy any beverage and get one 50% off.
During Target Circle Week, consumers will also be able sign up for a paid Target Circle 360 enhanced subscription for a discount fee of $49 for the first year (regularly $99).
Previously, Target counter programmed Amazon Prime Day with a two-day summer sales event called Target Deal Days. The retailer also hosted a fall 2023 version of the event.
In addition to getting a competitive jump on Prime Day, which this year takes place July 16-17, Target Deal Days also overlaps the Walmart Deals event July 8-11. Unlike Prime Day and Circle Week, Walmart Deals is open to all shoppers and just loyalty program members.
