Staples will host a major sale on home and office equipment.

Staples Inc. is saying "Happy New Year" to customers with a major sale that will begin in late December.

The office supplies giant will launch its “Home and Office Sale,” featuring exclusive deals and what it says will be “significant” price cuts on more than 600 items in categories including tech, office supplies and furniture on Sunday, Dec. 29.  Discounts will run through Saturday, Feb. 1, 2025.

Some discounts will only be available in-store. Users of the Staples mobile app will have access to additional exclusive offers with a single tap, and members of the free-to-join Easy Rewards loyalty program will have additional special offers beginning the week of Sunday, Dec. 22.

"Staples is dedicated to helping small businesses grow by providing value and savings on the products and services that matter most," said Marshall Warkentin, president of Staples U.S. Retail. "With price reductions across a wide range of essentials, our Home and Office Sale is designed to help businesses start 2025 on the right foot and ensure they have what they need to succeed."

The sale will also offer discounts on Staples’s professional-grade print and marketing services.

Staples has launched other omnichannel offerings this year, such as its recent partnership with Klarna to make its "Pay in 4" buy now, pay later option and financing service available to online shoppers. As a result, customers on the Staples e-commerce site can choose to pay now, split their purchase into four interest-free payments, or extend payments further for larger purchases.

Earlier in 2024, the company introduced what it says is the first-ever at-home battery recycling program. An at-home battery recycling box contains instructions for how consumers can safely store their used and old batteries. When full, consumers can take their box back to their local Staples store for their batteries to be recycled.

Headquartered in Framingham, Mass., Staples Inc. operates nearly 1,000 stores, with a Staples retail store located within 10 miles of more than half of the U.S. population, as well as e-commerce and business-to-business sales.
