Staples teams with HP for large-format color printing

Staples is partnering with HP on in-store printing.

Staples Inc. is upgrading stores across the U.S. with leading-edge HP printers to offer scaled printing services.

The office supplies giant is partnering with HP Inc. nationwide to upgrade stores across the U.S. with new HP DesignJet XL3800 printers. This will enable Staples to provide customers, including small businesses, retail owners and consumers, with same-day access to large-format color prints for materoaisl such as posters, banners, and blueprints.

Large-format printing has typically been performed by specialist print shops, but with the HP DesignJet XL3800 in Staples stores, customers can manage scaled printing jobs on their own terms and timelines, with assistance as needed from the retailer’s print associates.

"HP has been a trusted partner for decades, consistently providing top-notch service and support," said Jay Peek, senior VP of services, Staples U.S. Retail. "With the upgraded print experience from HP’s DesignJet XL3800 printers, our dedicated print associates are empowered to deliver an even better in-store experience. This enhances quality and reliability, allowing us to serve our customers more efficiently."

Other in-store services Staples has launched in 2024 include what the company says is the first-ever at-home battery recycling program. An at-home battery recycling box contains instructions for how consumers can safely store their used and old batteries. When full, consumers can take their box back to their local Staples store for their batteries to be recycled.
