  • Publix to open at Aloma Shopping Center

    Winter Park, Fla. -- Orlando, Fla.-based Crossman & Co. said that Publix will open a new store at Aloma Shopping Center, in Winter Park, Fla., on Nov. 18.

    The original store was demolished last April and the newly constructed store has been expanded by more than 5,000 sq. ft. The new 47,000-sq.-ft. facility includes a liquor store.

    Crossman & Co. has been overseeing the redevelopment of the property and handles the leasing and management at the shopping center. 

  • Giant Food to anchor new mixed-use development in Washington, D.C.

    Chevy Chase, Md. -- Steuart Investment Co. said that Giant Food has signed a lease to anchor a mixed-use project slated for development in Washington, D.C.

    The project, called 360º H Street, is a nearly 290,000-sq.-ft., LEED-certified development and features street-level retail topped by 215 rental units. Torti Gallas and Partners, Inc. of Silver Spring is the architect. 

  • Sylvania Sports World opens at Starlite Plaza

    Sylvania, Ohio -- Sylvania Sports World announced it has opened a 12,800-sq.-ft. store at Starlite Plaza, located in Sylvania, Ohio.

    The shopping center is owned by New York City-based Centro Properties Group.

  • Just Salad to open in New York City

    New York City -- New Street Realty Advisors, LLC announced a lease transaction between Whitehall Properties II, LLC, the owners of The Caroline at 706 Avenue of the Americas, New York City, and Just Salad.

    The 3,000-sq.-ft. ground floor space is located on the east side of Sixth Avenue between East 22nd Street and East 23rd Street.

    Just Salad is slated to open in the spring.

    Just Salad currently has five locations in New York City and two locations in Hong Kong.

  • Atherton Mill and Market announces new tenants

    Charlotte, N.C. -- Columbia, S.C.-based Edens & Avant announced that Atherton Mill and Market will soon welcome several new tenants.

    Vin Master will open a 1,661-sq.-ft. wine concept retail store at Atherton Mill. In addition to its permanent retail location in Atherton Mill, Vin Master will also become the first permanent vendor at the Atherton Farmers Market, located at the center.

    Vin Master will open in first quarter 2011.

  • Investec raises $130 million for acquisition of West Coast retail

    Santa Barbara, Calif. -- Investec announced it has raised $130 million for acquisition of grocery- and drug-anchored centers located in the coastal region of California.

  • Hibbett Sports opens at Northshore Plaza

    Portland, Texas  -- Hibbit Sports has opened a 4,000-sq.-ft. store at Northshore Plaza, in Portland, Texas.

    The shopping center is owned by New York City-based Centro Properties Group.

  • Wulfe & Co. announces promotions

    Houston -- Wulfe & Co. announced that Bob Sellingsloh has been named president of the company.

    Taryn Sims has been named president of Wulfe Management Services, a commercial real estate property management firm affiliated with Wulfe & Co.

    Ed Wulfe, founder, announced the firm’s new top management structure which will be effective January 1, 2011. Wulfe will assume the position of chairman and CEO of the companies, maintaining his full time day-to-day activities with both organizations.
