  • V.me by Visa and 1-800-Flowers.com team for online checkout

    Foster City, Calif. -- Visa Inc. and 1-800-Flowers.com said Monday that V.me by Visa will be offered as a checkout option on the florist’s site, making the digital wallet service more broadly available so more consumers can purchase online by simply entering a username and password.

    1-800-Flowers.com joins merchants such as Rakuten Buy.com, StudentUniverse.com, MovieTickets.com, BlueNile.com, ShoeBuy.com, ZooStores.com, Cooking.com, 88Hours.com and Scentiments.com, which are all using the digital wallet service.

  • Best Buy gets stellar score from Carbon Disclosure Project

    Minneapolis -- Best Buy Co. received its highest score ever from the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), which represents 655 institutional investors with $78 trillion in assets, for its performance and approach to the disclosure of climate change information.

  • 7-Eleven continues to expand with two new acquisitions

    Dallas -- 7-Eleven Inc. announced  two acquisitions that will further expand its U.S. store portfolio.

    The company has closed deals with EZ Energy USA Inc. to purchase 67 retail locations in the Cleveland and Pittsburgh markets, and with its licensee, Handee Marts Inc., to acquire 58 7-Eleven convenience stores in those same markets as well as locations in northern West Virginia and western Maryland.

  • Alliance Data signs multi-year renewal agreement with Crate and Barrel

    Dallas -- Alliance Data Systems Corp., a provider of loyalty and marketing solutions derived from transaction-rich data, announced its Retail Services business has signed a multi-year renewal agreement to continue providing the private label credit card program for multichannel home furnishings retailer Crate and Barrel.

    This year, in partnership with Alliance Data, Crate and Barrel introduced a rewards-based credit card that allows customers to earn rewards across all three brands: Crate and Barrel, CB2 and The Land of Nod.

  • Walmart expands health benefits to cover heart and spine surgeries with no out-of-pocket costs

    Bentonville, Ark. -- Walmart is expanding its Centers of Excellence program to offer its associates health care with no out-of-pocket cost for heart, spine, and transplant surgeries at six of the nation’s leading hospital and health systems.  

  • Toys “R” Us launches international shipping for online orders

    Wayne, N.J. – Toys “R” Us announced that international shipping is now available for online orders on Toysrys.com and Babiesrus.com to more than 60 countries across Asia, the Caribbean, Central America, Europe, North America and South America. The company is providing this service to its customers in partnership with i-parcel, a leading international air express company that facilitates global shipping capabilities.

  • Gap launches e-commerce in Japan

    San Francisco -- Gap Inc. announced Wednesday that customers in Japan can now shop Gap and Banana Republic products online through its new Japanese e-commerce sites (gap.co.jp and bananarepublic.co.jp). The sites offer Gap, GapKids, babyGap and Banana Republic products.

  • Wet Seal names Clinton Group nominee as chairman

    Foothill Ranch, Calif. -- Wet Seal Inc. said Wednesday it has named Clinton Group nominee Lynda Davey as chairman of the board. Davey is the former chairman and CEO of Avalon Group Ltd. and will replace the recently departed Harold Kahn.

    The announcement follows earlier news that four Clinton Group nominees joined the Wet Seal board of directors: Davey, Dorrit Bern, Mindy Meads and John Mills.
