  • Save Mart drives omnichannel loyalty with NCR, Inmar

    Modesto, Calif. - Save Mart Supermarkets has chosen NCR and Inmar Digital Promotions Network, a subsidiary of Inmar, to help drive customer loyalty online, mobile and in-store. NCR cloud and marketing retail solutions, combined with Inmar’s targeted digital coupon content and services, will allow Save Mart to manage promotions and loyalty programs while introducing digital coupons that are accessible via multiple sales channels.

  • Army and Air Force Exchange to install 6,000 NCR POS terminals

    Duluth, Ga. -- NCR Corporation announced that the Army and Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) will replace 6,000 point-of-sale terminals with NCR RealPOS 72XRT systems. The new technology will replace non-NCR terminals in both its retail and food services locations, and will be maintained globally by NCR Services.

    The Exchange provides quality goods and service at comparatively low prices to American armed forces families. It operates more than 3,100 facilities worldwide, in more than 30 countries, five U.S. territories and 50 states.

  • Sprint RadioShack launches in 1,435 stores

    Overland Park, Kan. -- A new chapter in the ongoing saga of RadioShack started on Friday with Sprint launching retail operations in 1,435 RadioShack stores.
     

  • AT&T, Boston

    AT&T has opened one of its largest stores yet, a 9,000-sq. ft. location on Boylston Street in Boston.

    The store, which is just a few steps away from the finish line of the Boston Marathon, sets itself apart with an all-glass front and space that spans two floors. A Boston flavor is prevalent throughout the space, starting with an oversized Boston Marathon-themed mural.

  • Ikea to open 351,000-square-foot store in Las Vegas

    Shoppers looking for Swedish mustard or cheap bathroom rugs won’t have to ask themselves “Why isn’t there an Ikea in Las Vegas?” for very much longer.

    The Swedish home furnishings retailer, along with Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval, Clark County Board of Commissioners Chair Steve Sisolak, Clark County District F Commissioner Susan Brager, U.S. Congressman Joe Heck, local officials and community leaders on-hand, officially broke ground this week for a future Ikea in Las Vegas.

  • Study: Sales per shopper rise in March

    San Jose, Calif. – Despite declining store traffic during March 2015, retailers benefited from increased sales per shopper (SPS), average transaction value (ATV) and conversion rates. According to the March 2015 RetailNext Retail Performance Pulse, SPS grew 5.8% compared to the same month a year earlier, perhaps reflecting pent-up consumer demand after a difficult winter.

    In addition, ATV grew 3.5% and conversions increased 0.9%, further suggesting consumers who visited stores were looking to make purchases. Returns stayed flat.

  • Saks’ Off 5th to open in Beverly Hills

    New York -- Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th will open its first store in Los Angeles County, in the Beverly Connection shopping center in Beverly Hills California.

    The new two-level, 27,000-sq.ft. store will be fashioned in an open, modular layout.

    “Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th’s move to Beverly Hills is an exciting venture for us,” stated Jonathan Greller, president of outlets, HBC (Saks’ parent company).
     

  • Veteran retailers join Petco executive ranks

    Petco has filled two key executive roles as it continues to build a team to successfully execute key strategic initiatives.

    The company has named Michael M. Nuzzo as EVP and chief financial officer and Michael W. Zuna as SVP and chief marketing and digital officer.
