  • Lids simplifies POS administration with Oracle Retail

    Indianapolis – Lids Sports Group is upgrading to a new Oracle Retail POS solution that will simplify administration and the user experience for the more than 50 different POS screen and receipt configurations for the retailer’s partner brands. These include major college and pro teams, as well as the nearly 200 Locker Room-branded stores in Macy’s locations.

  • PREIT and Macerich seek to redevelop, rebrand The Gallery in Philadelphia

    Philadelphia -- Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust and The Macerich Company announced that they have reached a tentative agreement with the City of Philadelphia on a redevelopment and re-branding of the Gallery shopping mall and transit center in the heart of Center City.

  • JD.com challenges Alibaba, partners with EBay

    Beijing, China – Chinese direct sales company JD.com Inc. is launching JD Worldwide, its new cross-border e-commerce platform that directly challenges Alibaba. JD Worldwide provides Chinese consumers with authentic imported products.

    In a coup over Alibaba, JD.com is also launching of "Best of EBay Deals," a pilot program on the new platform in partnership with EBay. EBay’s channel on JD Worldwide will showcase a variety of merchandise from select EBay sellers in the U.S.

  • Study: Retail app notification opt-in rates decline

    Portland, Ore. – Opt-in rates among consumers for push notifications from retail apps are on the decline. A new study from Urban Airship shows that average opt-in rates for retail apps fell to 37% in 2014, compared to 46% in 2013.

    In 2014, retail apps doubled their notification send volume on the key shopping days of Thanksgiving, Black Friday and Cyber Monday, and consumer response rates also doubled, despite the majority of those notifications being general sales promotions sent to all users.

  • The Walking Company personalizes store experience with Epicor

    Santa Barbara, Calif. - The Walking Company, has selected Epicor Retail solutions to support a more personalized in-store customer experience. The retailer has deployed Epicor Retail CRM 7.0 to support the launch of its new loyalty program, and Epicor Retail Clienteling to support improved store associate/customer engagement.

    The Walking Company is also rolling out the Epicor Retail Store Point of Sale (POS) solution across its 210-plus store retail enterprise.

  • Finish Line subsidiary launches omnichannel training platform

    Denver - The Running Specialty Group, a division of The Finish Line Inc., is entering a strategic agreement with Pear Sports, a mobile fitness and training content platform, for the launch of the RSG training channel, an interactive training platform and tracking tool which will integrate with the retailer’s store based training programs nationwide.

  • Webster Capital to purchase Dover Saddlery and take company private

    Littleton, Mass. - Dover Saddlery Inc. entered into a definitive merger agreement with a company formed by Webster Capital. Webster will acquire all of the outstanding shares of Dover common stock for $8.50 per share in cash and take Dover private.

  • New Balance Experience Store opens in Philadelphia

    Center City, Pa. -- X Team International, an international alliance of retail real estate advisors, announced that partner MSC Retail has completed a lease transaction with New Balance Experience Store at 1615 Walnut Street in Center City.

    The new 2,200-sq.-ft. ground-floor retail space is located on Philadelphia’s leading high street, and will sit alongside The Apple Store, Urban Outfitters and Free People. It opened on April 1.
