  • Express launches mobile promotion with GQ

    Columbus, Ohio – Express Inc. will be using Rich Media Messaging (RMM) technology from Iris Mobile to drive the fashion retailer’s seasonal “Back-to-Business” sweepstakes campaign with GQ Magazine. A combination of both a participant-based sweepstakes and a voting-based contest, this campaign will award one emerging startup entrepreneur with a grant from Express based on public votes.

    Orlando, Fla. -- Florida's retail development market is moving indoors. According to JLL research, nearly half of all retail commercial construction in Florida in the half of 2014 is taking place in malls and shopping centers.

  • Amazon acquires video game streaming site Twitch for $970 million

    New York -- Amazon.com announced Monday that it had agreed to acquire video game streaming site Twitch for $970 million in cash.

    The deal comes after reports that Google was set to acquire the streaming site.

  • Formosa Supermarket selects NCR to improve customer experience

    San Paulo, Brazil -- NCR Corporation announced that Formosa Supermarket, one of the biggest supermarket chains in Brazil, chose an NCR hardware solution to expedite service in its stores.

    Formosa Supermarket enjoys some of the highest revenues per store and by checkout in Brazil. Increased store activity, combined with hot and humid weather conditions required Formosa Supermarkets to incorporate a solution that not only handled large volumes but could also stand up to the climate.

  • Survey: Website is most dominant digital marketing channel

    Boston -- A retailer’s website is its most dominant channel for digital marketing, according to study done by A.T. Kearney done in conjunction with the National Association of Drug Stores. The survey findings were released on Monday, during the NACDS Total Store Expo Insight Session "Winning with Digital Marketing."

  • Study: QVC tops in mobile customer experience

    Chicago – QVC received top ranking in the Mobile Customer Experience Index from The E-tailing Group. QVC scored 84.17 on a 100-point scale, with the average score being 71.5.

  • Foot Locker Q2 profit, sales top estimates

    New York -- Foot Locker on Friday turned in another winning performance, posting sales and income for the second quarter that topped analysts’ estimates.

    Net income for the quarter increased to $92 million, from $66 million in the year-ago period.

    Total sales increased 12.9%, to $1.64 billion, compared with $1.45 billion for the corresponding prior-year period. Excluding the effect of foreign currency fluctuations, total sales for the second quarter increased 11.7%.
