Panjiva: U.S. imports up in July
New York - Imports to the U.S. were up in July from June, and there was a measurable year-over-year increase. According to a new report from supply chain research firm Panjiva, July 2014 showed levels of imports 2% higher than imports in July 2013.
The numbers of these shipments coming into the U.S. rose 5% from June 2014 to July 2014. Following the typical annual trend, Panjiva data shows that July has the highest level of imports of any month in 2014. This is likely the peak of the retail-holiday import cycle, with stores stocking up for the 2014 holidays.
