  • Kantar Retail: Target Canada beats Walmart Canada on pricing

    New York -- Target Canada is aggressively repositioning to drive its price value, according to a basket pricing study by Kantar Retail.

    “Target’s price leadership in Canada has clearly shifted,” noted Robin Sherk, director of retail insights, Kantar Retail, and contributor to the study. “We found that the price of Target Canada’s overall basket was 3.9% less expensive than Walmart’s. In our initial study, the retailers’ basket values were effectively even.”

  • Kmart unveils Fab 15 holiday toy list

    Kmart has unveiled its annual Fab 15 holiday toy list, a week after Toys “R” Us announced its Fabulous 15.

    To help drive sales, Kmart has also unveiled a "Trending Toy Ticker" at Kmart.com/Fab15. The ticker continually updates the top-selling toys as the season progresses to help shoppers keep up to date with the latest trends.

  • Contact Solutions upgrades mobile customer care tool

    Reston, Va. – Cloud-based customer care technology provider Contact Solutions has released version 2.1 of its My:Time mobile customer care tool. My:Time 2.1 introduces a software developer kit (SDK) that allows developers to add My:Time customer care to existing mobile apps, so users can get in-app customer support.

  • Cole Haan teams up with three New York City Ballet dancers

    Lifestyle footwear and accessories brand Cole Haan has entered into a multiyear partnership with three ballerinas of the New York City Ballet for its Cole Haan Avery Ballet Studio Collection.

    The collection re-materializes the classic Avery Ballet Flat, according to the brand, and features product inspired and co-created by Principal Dancers Sara Mearns and Megan Fairchild, as well as Gretchen Smith of the Corps de Ballet.

  • PayPal in partnerships with Bitcoin processors

    New York -- PayPal has made its first direct entry into the virtual currency space. The company announced via a blog post that it has entered into agreements with leading Bitcoin payment processors BitPay, Coinbase and GoCoin. The agreements let PayPal’s digital goods merchants in North America accept Bitcoin, with a simple integration through the PayPal Payments Hub.

    YCD Multimedia, a provider of professional digital signage software solutions, has promoted Sam Losar, currently its president of US operations, to CEO.
     
    Assuming CEO responsibility from company co-founder Noam Levavi, Losar will be trusted with continuing to expand the growth he achieved in the Americas to its business operations in Europe and Asia.

    Noam Levavi co-founded the company in 1999 in Israel and led it for more than a decade.
