  • Abercrombie swings to loss in Q2 but still tops Street

    New Albany, Ohio – Efforts to change its merchandising and branding paid dividends at Abercrombie & Fitch Co., which reported smaller net loss and revenue decline than expected in the second quarter of fiscal 2015.

    Abercrombie reported a net loss of $810,000, compared to net income of $12.9 million the same quarter a year earlier.

    Revenue fell 9% to $817.8 million, from $890.6 million.

  • Hollister helps lift profit at Abercrombie

    Efforts to change its merchandising and branding are paying off for Abercrombie & Fitch Co., which reported a smaller profit and revenue loss than expected in the second quarter.

Total company ame-store sales dropped 4%. Abercrombie same-store sales fell 7% and Hollister same-store sales fell 1%, below Wall Street’s expected rate of decline.

  • Bon-Ton increases e-commerce support

    Milwaukee - The Bon-Ton Stores Inc. is increasing its support of e-commerce with a new 743,000-sq.-ft. direct-to-consumer fulfillment center.

    The facility, which began transitioning fulfillment operations in June, supports the company’s expanding e-commerce business and omnichannel growth plans.

  • Data breach costly for Target

    Minneapolis – Target Corp. has released an estimate of costs related to its 2013 data breach.

    In a 10-Q filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Target estimated it had incurred $168 million in liabilities and was eligible for $55 million in insurance reimbursements (as of August 1, 2015).

  • Finish Line running with a new partner

    Indianapolis -- Two of the nation’s largest athletic brands are teaming up.

    The Finish Line has joined with Puma for the launch an in-store shop concept called the Puma edge at Finish Line.

    Finish Line will open 10 initial Puma shops within targeted retail locations across the country and online at FinishLine.com in August. The experience includes expanded product offerings with a unique approach to marketing and content creation designed specifically to connect the Puma brand to the Finish Line consumer.

  • Target to pay millions in hiring discrimination case

    Target Corp. has agreed to pay $2.8 million to resolve a hiring discrimination claim filed by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
