  • The Vitamin Shoppe to open 10 new locations

    Plymouth Meeting, Pa. -- Metro Commercial Real Estate announced it has negotiated 10 new store openings for The Vitamin Shoppe in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

    The Vitamin Shoppe, is a leading multichannel specialty retailer and contract manufacturer of nutritional products with 700+ stores throughout the U.S., Puerto Rico and Canada.

    The Vitamin Shoppe Pennsylvania locations: Chadds Ford, Fairless Hills, Feasterville, Lancaster, Paoli, Philadelphia, Dickson City/Scranton and Wilkes-Barre.

  • Publix Super Markets CEO is stepping down

    Publix Super Markets is getting a new CEO after Ed Crenshaw announced his retirement on Wednesday.

    The company announced that Crenshaw will step down effective April 30. Upon Crenshaw’s retirement, current company President Todd Jones will become president and CEO. 

  • Dollar Tree to expand Pennsylvania footprint

    Plymouth Meeting, Pa. -- Metro Commercial Real Estate announced it has negotiated 13 new store openings for Dollar Tree in Pennsylvania.

    Dollar Tree a value-driven variety store operating at a one-dollar price point, with stores where Middle America lives and shops and incorporates the philosophy of bright stores, big signs, and a clean environment.

  • Nordstrom Rack on the move

    Nordstrom continues to expand its off-price format, with plans to open a Nordstrom Rack at The Marketplace at Braintree in Braintree, Massachusetts. The approximately 35,000-sq.-ft. store, leased from Seritage Growth Properties is scheduled to open in fall 2016.

    Nordstrom Rack at The Marketplace at Braintree will join a diverse group of retailers including Ulta Beauty, Sports Authority, Best Buy, Bed Bath & Beyond and PetSmart. The 351,282-sq.-ft. center is located south of downtown Boston and near main highways including I-93, I-95 and Route 3.

  • CBRE hires international urban and high street retail expert

    Los Angeles -- CBRE Group announced that Andrew Turf, a high street luxury retail real estate expert, will join the company’s Retail Services team as senior VP. Turf will also act as tenant representative on the West Coast and beyond and collaborate with capital markets teams on a variety of real estate projects.

  • Home fitness equipment giant enters retail arena

    Nautilus is getting up close and personal with shoppers.

    The maker of Bowflex, Universal and other exercise equipment brands has opened its first-ever retail store, The Nautilus Shop, at its headquarters in Vancouver.

    The roughly 3,000 -sq.-ft. space is designed to create an environment that supports engagement between customers and products, as well as the development of new concepts for the company’s retail partners.

  • Restaurant chain to add 33 new locations in California

    Sonic Drive-In is expanding its footprint in the Golden State.

    The company signed franchise agreements to open a total of 33 new drive-ins in the state of California over the next seven years.

    The 33 drive-ins are planned for multiple markets across the state: 11 in Sacramento; 12 in the San Francisco Bay Area; three in west Los Angeles; five between Bakersfield and Stockton and two in the Palm Springs area.

  • Saks expands commitment to downtown Manhattan

    Saks Fifth Avenue has another store to its lineup at Brookfield Place in downtown Manhattan.

    The retailer, a division of Hudson’s Bay Company, said it will open a 16,750-sq.-ft. dedicated men’s store at the center, in spring 2017. As previously announced, Saks will open an 85,000-sq.-ft. full line store at Brookfield Place.
