  • GameStop opens 1,000th tech brands store

    GameStop’s Technology Brands division has reached another milestone toward its goal of generating $1.5 billion in revenue by 2019.

    The retailer announced it has opened its 1,000th technology brand store. The company now boasts the title of largest video game retailer in the world, as well as the largest AT&T authorized retailer and largest Apple-authorized specialist in the United States.

  • Petco trades private equity owners

    The convoluted ownership history of Petco has just taken an interesting new turn that cost $4.6 billion.

    According to a statement release by Petco, funds affiliated with CVC Capital Partners and the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB) entered into a definitive agreement to jointly acquire Petco from a group of investors led by TPG and Leonard Green & Partners for approximately $4.6 billion. The acquisition of the 1,400 store retailer is expected to close in early 2016.

  • Venture Commercial closes two leases for specialty DIY retailer

    Venture Commercial has completed two leases on behalf of Northern Tool + Equipment in White Bear Lake, Minnesota, in the White Bear Marketplace, and in Live Oak, Texas, in The Village at Forum Parkway Shopping Center. Clay Mote of Venture Commercial, who is the master broker for Northern Tool + Equipment, made the announcement.

  • Baker Katz closes Houston apparel retail lease

    Houston-based Baker Katz, an X Team International partner and full-service commercial real estate brokerage firm, has completed a 3,469-sq.-ft. lease on behalf of Crossroads Trading.

    Crossroads Trading will open its first Texas location in Central Houston’s Montrose neighborhood in the Westmont building. Crossroads Trading buys, sells and accepts trade-ins of used clothing and accessories.
