  • Couche-Tard to buy 18 stores in Texas as CFO suddenly resigns

    One of the world’s largest C-store operators is searching for a new CFO as the company expands its reach in the southern United States with a deal to buy 18 convenience stores operating under the Texas Star brand.

    Alimentation Couche-Tard Inc. announced that Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Raymond Paré has resigned. It also announced a deal to acquire 18 convenience stores in the Souhwest, which will be converted to the Circle K brand and will continue to sell Shell and CITGO-branded fuel. The deal is expected to close by next April.

  • DlC Management Corp. announces September leasing deals

    Tarrytown, N.Y. -- DLC Management Corporation announced the company signed 27,684 sq. ft. of new leases in September across five states: Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, Ohio and Pennsylvania.

    The leases include tenants Carter’s, Creations Barber Shop, Five Below, Great Clips, Jude’s Carryout, Lucky Duck, Nail Bless, New Dragon Restaurant, Quick-N-Clean Cleaners and The Village Bar & Restaurant, ranging from 972 sq. ft. to 8,000 sq. ft.

  • Shoe Carnival names retail vet as senior VP of real estate

    Shoe Carnival tapped Jeff Fink as senior VP real estate, effective Oct. 12. He will oversee the company’s store site selection and lease administration functions.

    Fink joins Shoe Carnival with over 27 years of experience in the real estate industry focusing on footwear and specialty retail. Most recently, he worked for La-Z-Boy, as VP of real estate.

    From 2003 to 2014, Fink worked for Jo-Ann Stores as senior VP, real estate and lease administration where he oversaw the addition of 366 stores totaling 2.8 million retail sq. ft.

  • Ex-Walgreens exec to lead Fred's store operations

    Fred’s Super Dollar has turned to an operational executive from Walgreens to take over as executive VP of store operations.

    red's announced that John Foley has been appointed to the new role. Mike Holligan, who formerly served in this capacity, will move to the open position of regional VP store operations.

  • Cullinan Properties welcomes senior VP of development and anchor leasing

    Peoria, Ill. -- Cullinan Properties announced the addition of Vic Pildes as senior VP of development and anchor leasing. In this role, Pildes will be responsible for development and municipal related activities for new projects, assist in the identification of new acquisition opportunities and lead anchor leasing efforts throughout Cullinan’s portfolio.

    Chico’s is looking to a veteran of Victoria’s Secret to help the company navigate some troubling times.

    The company announced that Cynthia A. Fields has been appointed to its board of directors, effective immediately. Fields was also appointed to the board's merchant committee.

  • REI promotes 25-veteran

    REI has promoted Rachel Ligtenberg to VP of retail following a 25-year tenure with the company.

    In her new role, she adds retail operations to her current responsibilities of leading store design, visual merchandising and the co-op's flagship strategy.

    Ligtenberg will continue to enhance REI's retail experience through new store design concepts to showcase its products, services and educational programs.
